Senior Instructor
Chief Master Wan Joo Choi was born in Korea and started taekwondo at age seven in 1964. He made his 1st degree black belt in 1968. While in the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), he went on to make his 2n d, 3rd and 4th degree black belts in 1971, 1975 and 1979 respectively. He taught taekwondo to the Korean Police Academy for three years and he has also served as an international Olympic referee in taekwondo.
In 1981, Master Choi immigrated to the United States and continued to advance in the WTF, being promoted to 5th degree in 1987 and to 6th degree in 1991. Master Choi joined the ATA as a 5th degree black belt in 1991. He was promoted to 6th degree in 1993, and was given the title of Master in 1995. He became a 7th degree Senior Master in the year 2000 and 8th degree in 2007. He currently holds the rank of Chief Master in the ATA
